Latte Birthday Wishes

Latte Birthday Wishes

Hi All!

Quick note: Ellen Hutson is having 40% off Christmas items today and tomorrow. A great way to save some money and stock up for next year’s cards! Use code JOYFUL17 at checkout. Also, Simon Says Stamp has a big release today called “Friends”! Tons of new and awesome stuff – check it out.

Today I’m using an old set that I haven’t used in awhile called Hot Concoctions by Paper Smooches. I have used it in the past on this card, this card, and this card. It just started to get cold in Dallas, so I was in the mood for a toasty and warm card. I seem to always be drawn to my Knit background with this stamp set, which reminds me of a sweater.

Here is a close-up of the card:

I also haven’t used my Copic markers in awhile. It seems there is always something new to try. Sometimes it’s hard to remember to go back and use what you already have and love!

Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

Your new iPhone camera is superb and really gives us a wonderful close up. I agree that we can forget some of our older products because of the new stuff that’s always coming out on the market. I’ve started using my Prismacolor pencils again and really love them on crumbcake card-stock. Maybe that’s why I liked your background knit image so much on the crumbcake. It looks so realistic too. Hope you have a good weekend. Not many sleeps now before Christmas!

Connie, funny you should mention “not many sleeps” – that exactly how I would count it when I was young. I need to bring that back for my kids! Alaina is already on break, but Courtney has another week, poor thing!

How cute is this card, I especially love the knit background stamp and the link one around the cup. I can’t believe I haven’t seen them before.
I agree Darlene, your new I Phone X has a cracker of a camera and makes it very easy to see things close up. Glad you left the editing in for the “fix-ups” its good to see that consummate experts also have a little
Whoopsie now and then. My biggest problem is finger smudging, Im a total expert at that…..cue the mono sand eraser!!

    Hi Darlene!
The video quality is amazing…it makes me want an iPhone X! I’m guessing you also took the pictures with your iPhone? Cute card and thank you for the crafty inspiration!

I also love the new camera you’re using! Amazing what a phone can do these days, huh? Great job on the card. It’s still kind of a shock to see a non-holiday card, though. LOL I’m trying to segue from doing holiday cards to more “regular” themes now–not as easy as it sounds! Of course, I still have to do some packaging & tags, so I guess I’m not quite done with Christmas yet. Anyway, I really like the color scheme you used on your card, Darlene. The brown/kraft sets off the blue & the macaroon colors quite well. Have a wonderful weekend! 🐱 ~ Andrea

Darlene, I immediately noticed something wonderfully different on your video, the images are so much clearer, it’s like you are right here in front of me, so awesome!!
Love this card, the images are as cute as can be, the coloring is fabulous.
The background is so cozy, just perfect for your sweet cup and cookies.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

Another Card added to my favorites. Basically my favorites are your whole gallery of cards lol. I love this card. The colors blend so well together. I have to also agree that your new camera is awesome. Great close-up view and even your voice seems to be clearer, like you are standing next to me. I have to ask if you use the sponge daubers and blending pads for color groups for any ink or to you label them specifically for the ink brand you are using? Thanks again for sharing. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Anita! Thank you for your kind words. 🙂 Regarding the daubers, I keep them all in this storage box. It’s actually kind of disorganized… they aren’t in order within the box. Whenever I need one, I look for one that kind of matches the color I am using.

I noticed right away when you got your new phone. The quality before was great but what a difference! It is really nice for everything to be so clear and the close ups are wonderful.
