Hi All,
I’m jumping the gun on the January Love Challenge! This koala is so cute – he just screams love. The card is pretty simple – something I think we could all use a little of right now with the holidays.
I initially made the background green. When I was putting the pieces together, I just didn’t like it. Green and gray really didn’t look very nice together. So, I switched to pink. Why not? It’s a lot brighter and more cheerful. Here is a close-up:
Enjoy the video!

I’m glad we are past Christmas now. I was getting Christmas card overload at the end (ha! ha!). I love this very original Valentine card. which really could be sent any time of year. I guess you know that a Koala is not a bear although it’s often called a koala “bear”. I called it that too until I was told that it is really a marsupial, or pouched mammal. That’s because the female koala carries her baby in her pouch for about 6 months in the same way that a kangaroo does. But this little discrepancy isn’t all that important and doesn’t take anything away from this very cute card. .

Oops. I’m not sure I ever really thought about it! Thanks for the info, Connie. Hopefully the recipient won’t catch that! 🙂
Connie
Ha! Ha! I’m sure the recipient won’t care one little bit! It’s no big deal really unless you say Koala “bear” to some Australians as I soon discovered when I first came to Australia!

So cute, Darlene!! I love Koalas. I wish I could go to Australia just to hold one, if they still do that at the Sydney Zoo. Cute, cute. Love the simplicity!

The first day I arrived in Australia to live, I actually held a koala. They eat eucalyptus leaves which is like a narcotic and so they are very groggy most of the time. Their claws could hurt though if they weren’t so docile.
Angie
How much can a koala bear? Haha
Love your cards as always.

Good one Angie!!! Glenis from NSW Australia

Love that saying too, Angie! Apparently they can bear a lot because they’re spaced out most of the time! Ha! Ha!

This is really cute! I have another set with a koala bear so I will have to try this one! I can’t picture the green background, so I am glad you used pink (especially since this is a valentines card), 😎

Darlene, I adore this card. Koalas are so cute and I’m liking the pink cardstock.

I LOVE this card too. I also held a koala bear when I first visited Australia, now I’ve lived here 24 years and I don’t see them often at all, although here in Central Qld. it is koala country.
