Welcome to the July Challenge! This month we’re focused on the good things in life… desserts. Cupcakes, cake, chocolate, donuts, ice cream, candy… whatever you like. This challenge may not be good for my health, lol.
The last day to submit your entry is Monday, July 31st, 11:59pm CT. One random winner will be selected from all entries and announced on Tuesday, August 1st.
The giveaway will be a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp, one of my favorite stores!
Okay, just to recap the main rules:
Your entry must include a yummy dessert element.
You can submit as many entries as you like! However, please submit only one entry per card.
After submitting your entry, leave a comment on the entry just before yours.
Leave more comments on entries, if you’re so inclined. 🙂
To be eligible for a prize, you must be an active member of LiveLoveCards at the time the winner is announced and your card must have been made in the current month.
I just got these sprinkles and I love them!! I thought this challenge would be the best time to break them out and use them. Here are my sprinkled cupcakes for today:
This card uses all SU products including Sweet Shop dsp and stickers (the cake and heart border). Sorry for the poor quality photo! 🙂
Sweet Shop Sticker Card
I wanted to use the SU Sweet Shop stickers since they were so colorful, so I made them the focal point instead of stamping something. I love these old stickers and I still have some left! Colors are Watercolor Wonder and Pink Pirouette and whisper white.
Cupcake card
This yummy card uses SU Sweet Shop dsp and the stamp is Sweet Cake. I stamped using Versamark ink and Pool Party embossing powder. I used liquid applique and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds. The cherry on top is a red brad.
Donut Birthday Card
This card uses SU Cherry on Top dsp and the sentiment is from SU Sprinkles on Top stamp set. I used embossing paste like Darlene but added TH Peacock Feathers ink to the paste and then just sprinkled glitter on top after spreading. Card stock colors are Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Early Expresso from SU.

House Mouse Poppin Good Birthday
Simple card using a very old House Mouse wooden stamp. I have so many stamps and dies with cakes, donuts, cookies, candy and cupcakes....I am loving this months theme!
Sweet Summertime Dessert
I'll always remember enjoying a slice of watermelon with my cousins after our summertime dinner visits; not the kind of dessert most folks think of, but a sweet and juicy finish for sure.
IMG_0811.JPG
I love a good bowl of yummy strawberries. I colored the strawberries with copics and made a bowl for them to sit in.
It's All About The Pie
Stamp from Pink Ink. I'm a copy-cat; I just kept it simple with color pencils, like she did in the photo at Pink Ink.
Icing on the cake card
Supplies used are from Stampin Up.
Hey cupcake
This cupcake stamp set is one of the few stampin up products I own, Easy layered stamping.
Sweet Treats
Colored with various glitter and gel pens. Nouvo drops used around the display tray.
Birthday Card
All the pieces where cut on my electronic cutting machine. I used alcohol inks to color the letters and cupcake tops. The sprinkles where made with pearlized jelly roll pens.
Way to Chillax--
The waves where brushed with Faded Jeans Oxide ink. Sentiments is from Paper Smooches sets e.g., Sentiment Sampler
Wedding Card.JPG
Parts cut on Pazzle. Design from Bird. Sentiment from Hero arts.
Power Poppy Layered Cake Digital
I had another card in mind to make for the Challenge but this card just came together by happenstance today. I had never downloaded a digital stamp. So, I decided to download this Power Poppy Layered Cake Digital to colour with Prisma pencils. I liked the outcome, so decided to go ahead to make a card. After fussy cutting the layered cake, I selected SU melon mambo, coordinating DSP, and a SU festive embossing folder for mats on a Neenah Solar White card-base. To add some sparkle to the card, I added SU rhinestones to all the raised festive balls on the embossed front panel. I thought perhaps I overdid the rhinestones but my husband said "no" and who am I to argue?! A friend's birthday is coming up in the next few weeks, so I think I'll send it to her.
Happy Birthday, birthday cake.
Cupcakes anyone?
I left the inside blank but will probably use for a birthday.
Birthday Cake
Birthday Cake Mouse
I stamped my favorite rodent on watercolor paper and colored it with Zig Clean Color watercolor brushes.
Jelly bean mouse.jpg
Another appearance of my favorite rodent, this time overeating jellybeans! I also stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it with the Zig clean color watercolors.
Birthday cake frame
Watercolored with distress markers. Used wink of Stella on happy and flames. I went back in later and added some purple sequins.
Cupcake
Card using Quickutz Cupcake Die and Stampendous sentiment.
Macarons in a bakery box
Card using Elizabeth Crafts Macarons Die set. Tried to make the card look like the bakery box I remember from the bakery where my grandmother bought coffee cakes and sweets.
Wobble Cupcake
I stamped my images and colored them using copics. One is adhered to the card later, another propped up with dimensional tape and the center one with a wobble action spring. I love how it creates its own shadow in this picture as I didn't color in a shadow like on the other two.
Birthday Girl
Have made this for several Birthdays. I love the Stamping Bella stamp.
All You Need Is Ice Cream
A sweet card I made for my niece for her birthday
I Like You More Than Cupcakes!
This is Carta Bella paper and Queen & Co shaker elements.

Some Lawn Fawn Desserts
Happy Birthday Scene Card
I hope this card counts--it does have a birthday cake! 🙂 I created this for a friend whose birthday is next weekend. I colored the image (from Art Impressions "Make a Wish" set) with my Tombow markers, and added the striped "wallpaper" to the background, following the suggestion on the stamp set packaging. Tfl! 🙂
Sweet Birthday Wishes
I used Raisin Boat stamps on this…unfortunately they closed their doors last month.
Make a wish birthday card
Piece of Cake card - Charlene Thompson
Made with CTMH stamp set - Piece of Cake, stampin up inks and patterned paper
LOTV Lots of cupcakes
I didn't design this card, it was one I found when looking for this stamp which I've had for years and doesn't get used hardly ever. A good challenge!
Sweet Birthday Wishes
Like Darlene, I just couldn't resist this Hero Arts layered stamp & die set!! I've had tons of fun with it so far! Paper is from an AC Dear Lizzy stack along with some vellum & scrap cardstock. I used two Cuttlebug embossing folders (Argyle & Diamond in the Rough) for texture on the cones.
Got online for another reason and was pleasantly surprised to see your Challenge card. I like those sprinkles too and have something similar even though not exactly the same. But what the heck! I’m going with what I have anyway because your card is just too cute not to CASE! And it makes me want to eat one of the cupcake on your card as well!!

Wow…love those sprinkles!! They look so real. I must go make some cup cakes! I don’t have sprinkles but I have micro beads that might work…😎
Microbeads work brilliantly and give the same effect. Sprinkles are $40 in Australia so I’ll be continuing with my microbeads!

Glad you showed your work inside too just made it so much
More. I’m re-organising my crafty stash this week so will target some stuff to use for an entry.

Darling card. I see you pulled out a Hero Arts cupcake stamp set for the inside sentiment. I have that set and I think it’s absolutely the most used set I have. I love it and I think it’s been a year or two since I used it. I may need to pull that one out and come up with something to submit this month.
