Thank you to all participants in the January Love Challenge! I really enjoy going through all the entries at the end of the month. There are so many creative people! I hope you’ll check out all the entries when you have a few minutes.
I’ve got several highlights for this month. First is this watercolor card by Chris:
I love the colors used, I love the shadows she created, and I love how the hearts aren’t perfectly shaped. Beautiful!
Next is this clean and simple card by Annie:
This card is fantastic because of all the little decisions Annie made to make it come together so beautifully. She decided to add 2 borders at the bottom (a bold move to combine dots AND stripes), but she added them off-center from one another. She made them gray instead of black so they wouldn’t be too strong behind the sentiment. Then, she decided to separate them with a glitter strip, which stops just short of the right side. AND THEN she added 3 sequins – not too much, not too little, to finish it out. Seriously – getting the perfect sequence of correct decisions can be difficult, but Annie did it fantastically well and the card is awesome. Sorry I got a little carried away with this one, but I feel like I make little decisions like this on cards all the time (many times not good ones!), so I appreciate the process she went through.
Okay, on to the next card. This one is by Sarah:
I love this die set – it’s so adorable! But what really got me with this card is the gingham towel and the sprinkle shakers. The detail really makes the card.
Finally, check out these cards by Caly:
What you don’t know behind the photo is that Caly is a working mom with 4 kids. Yes, and she’s making these amazing clean-lined SHAKER cards for teachers. She’s putting us to shame, lol. Great job as usual, Caly!! I love your designs.
Thanks again to everyone who submitted a card. I’ll be back shortly with the launch of the February Bird Challenge!
