Holiday Thank You

Holiday Thank You

Hi All!

Hope you’re having an enjoyable holiday week. Today’s I’m creating another thank you card, in the spirit of the December challenge.

This Penny Black La Fleur Rouge stamp was kind of an out-of-the-box purchase for me. It’s not a clean and organized stamp. So, of course, I felt compelled to clean it up a little. That was sort of my vision when I bought it. I added the details with distress markers, after I stamped it by coloring the stamp with the same distress markers.

For something different, I die cut a tag out of the middle, colored the edges with silver, and raised it up with foam tape.

I’ll be back tomorrow with one more post this week before Christmas. Enjoy!

Beautiful card! Love how you put veins in the leaves and filled in spots that didn’t stamp the way you wanted. You have such good ideas Darlene. Thank you for sharing with us.

What a wonderful idea Darlene! Plus you did not waste your talented work with the coloring. I loved the vein work, looks so darn good. Another great card. I will have to case this one!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Beautiful card, and the extra veining detail makes such a difference. The silver edges do show quite nicely and are a nice touch.

There are a lot of poinsettia stamps out there on the market but you’ve chosen well and done a beautiful card. Hope you have a wonderful holiday break with family and friends.

I like how this card turned out very much! I am going to stamp a different image and do the pop-up feature with the gilded edges. I thought your coloring turned out beautifully too. Classy!

Darlene, the veins you drew in just made the flower pop!! I love what you did with this card and when the time is right I’m casing this one for sure.

Awesome card – love the tag and you are right you were “thinking out of the box” with stamp but you are so creative. Love the details. Sending Christmas blessing to you.

Love the details you got with adding the veining & all on the flowers & leaves. I think it was the perfect touch. Not too much, but just enough to make it look less “washy.” Hope y’all have a very Merry Christmas! 🙂 ~ Andrea

I think I liked the bow more, too and I probably would’ve gone ahead and chanced it coming undone because you know….multi medium matte, multi medium matte, multi medium matte!! HAHA I think I will CAS this technique and layout…I’m making a set of thank you cards for my stepmom for her birthday in Jan and doing a few different card styles so she doesn’t get bored with a whole set of one thank you card.

Btw, you should give yourself more credit with the hand drawing…I would have never attempted the outlining for fear of messing it all up…infact, that stamp was too intimidating for me!! LOL Thanks for sharing and hope you and yours have a happy new year!!
