Onto the card… this year I decided to do a shutter card. A shutter card literally has a shutter on the inside that opens and closes as you open and close the card.

Holiday Photo Card

Here is the front:

As you open it…

…the photo is revealed:

I saw my very first shutter card about a month ago when Karen W mailed me one of her cards to donate (see HERE for how to donate cards to people in need of love). I’d never seen one before! My card is 5″ x 7″ so that I can fit a big photo. Karen has a video on creating an A2 size HERE, if you are interested.

Supplies are listed at the end of this post. To view all my past photo cards, CLICK HERE.

Back to the hop! Here is a complete list of the stops:

Your next stop will be Simon Says Stamp, where the fantabulous and uber-amazing Shari Carroll will wow you.

Enjoy your trip!

What a great way to showcase a beautiful photo or even a fun sentiment! I have not seen this technique anywhere and am dying to try it! Maybe for my son’s birthday. I am so far ahead on birthday cards now, that his is next in line and it’s not until April. I know what I should do is to keep practicing each new technique until I get better at it, but I get too excited to wait! Thanks so much for this.

Wow, I really love this card! I’m a Catholic so the holidays are a special time of year for me. When I make cards I make Santa cards, wreath cards, snow and snowman cards, gingerbread cards and religious cards with angels, the manger and I even have a stamp with Santa praying over the baby Jesus among others. I love Mary and Joseph and the Babe in the manger. It’s so cute! I’ve never made a photo card like yours and it seems a little difficult for me to do. I’ll have to watch the video. Thanks for showing us your beautiful card! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and I hope I get to win something!
