Hi There, Bear!

Hi There Bear

Hi All!

Today I made a few cards from a new set by Concord and 9th called Hi There, Bear. The bear is so adorable! I purchased it because it incorporates several different occasions, with both accessories and sentiments.

And there are stripes for the challenge in the background! This first one I created in the video:

Hi There Bear

I actually had to make a few decisions while I made it because I hadn’t tried this color combo before the video. The other two are the same design but with different colors. The first one has a Crumb Cake bear and card base. The striped background is Soft Sky and the umbrella is So Saffron:

Hi There Bear

The second one uses the stamp in the set that creates panda markings. So cute! The bear is Versafine Black Onyx ink, the striped background is Pink Pirouette, and the balloon is Melon Mambo. I matted it to a Hero Arts note card:

Hi There Bear

I hope everyone is making progress with their holiday shopping. Enjoy the video!

How amazing! I just saw this stamp set today and was deliberating about whether or not to buy it. Like you, I can see so many cute possibilities. I really liked your 3 cards, so I think I just might buy the set. I haven’t used my stamp-a-ma-jig in a long time. Wonder why you didn’t use the MISTI for the positioning though. Is there some reason that I should know about?

When it’s a detailed alignment, I always use my jig. I find it hard to look through a clear stamp and get it lined up correctly. Looking through the plastic sheet is so much more accurate. You definitely need to start using your jig more, Connie!

Thanks Darlene. I’ll dust off my jig and start using it again. I need to practice first too as it’s been so long!

The cards are lovely, my fave is the caramel/brown one. Interesting how the fur stamps work and texturise the look of the bear. Is the striped area hard to ink up? While I was watching I caught myself hoping it wouldn’t go onto the bear area by mistake ( perhaps the bear is raised a bit or cut out).
Concord and 9th are doing some interesting and different sets.

Hi Dayse. The striped area wasn’t hard to ink up at all – the bear fits neatly inside.

Wow! Love all three cards. Concord and 9th do come up with some great stamp sets.
