Happy Watercolor

Happy Watercolor

Hi All,

I am more than happy with this card. Nothing went wrong! That’s been pretty rare for me over the last couple of months. I don’t think I’ve ever done a watercolor where I didn’t do, redo, overdo, fix, deliberate, fix again, etc. Ha! I think this is a good example that less can be more. I didn’t overthink it. As a result, my colors stayed separate and distinct, especially the yellow, which can easily be lost with too much blending. Here is a close-up of the color:

I haven’t been doing much watercolor, so I decided to use a variety of watercolor mediums over the next few weeks. Today, it’s Gansai Tambi. I’ll also be using Zig watercolor pens and Peerless watercolors soon. I’m sure I speak for a lot of you… we have so much stuff! We need to use what we have. 🙂

Enjoy the video!

It’s so satisfying when a card comes together so easily. This card is such a simple uncluttered design. I don’t have that stamp set but am sure I can find a similar large sentiment to use in much the same way. I have the full set of Gansai Tambi watercolours now but haven’t used them nearly enough. Now I have a good reason to get them out! I especially like the way you drew around the HAPPY with your Stampin Up marker. It made all the difference and I must remember to do this too.

Nice and simple card. Love it! As Connie said we could use any large sentiment to do this. And any watercolors too!

Sometimes I feel the simpler the card the nicer it is.
It’s clean and yet striking too, the paper card took the paint well, I don’t use mine much for the ” pilling” but didn’t think about the smooth side. Guess I’ll be revisiting it now yes x

I appreciate the “use what you have”. I am trying hard not to get caught up in every new medium that comes into view.
