Hi All,
First, quick sales alert: Ellen Hutson is having 20% off all stamps through Saturday. Use code saveonstamps at checkout.
How can we have a critter challenge without including some owl love? The punch is back.
I don’t make a lot of Halloween cards, but I saw these owl punch Halloween creations and had to recreate a couple. If you don’t already have this owl punch, you’re missing out. Did you know there is a category in the gallery for it? Click here and select “owl punch” at the top.
Here is a close-up of each:
I’ll be back Monday for a special announcement about a new program (hint: it’s about birthdays). Enjoy the video!

Adorable! At first glance, I thought this was the new fox punch. Glad you brought back the owl punch! I need to get mine out and use it…I just had to have it and haven’t used it. I think we can all relate. ๐

Oh Darlene, I couldn’t stop laughing. What a wonderful card!. The owl bat and vampire bat are both priceless It also doesn’t look like it will be too hard to duplicate. I just love my Stampin Up owl punch too and your latest creation will be great to add to my collection. Thanks for such a delightful video to end my day ‘Down Under’!
Connie
Must be getting late – meant to say owl vampire!

So great to see the owl punch again! As always, great tips! I never thought about using the sticky part of a Post-it to hold those small pieces. Thanks, Darlene!

Absolutely inspired! The way these shapes came together was perfect… you are so talented!

Just too, too clever.

This is hilarious!!! I have had my owl punch for a long time too and usually only make penguins and owls…so this is a great new idea for that punch! I also love the fact that you hardly ever leave an even border around the whole card (which I have a habit of doing). I have to add this feature to more of my cards and it would be a great way to use up some of my washi tape! thanks Darlene! ?

omg! This is the cutest thing ever! Wow. I have seen lots of uses of the owl punch, but this is just too darn cute! I have all my fall cards made, but will save the idea for next year. You rocked it!

Darlene, this card is an absolute hoot! LOL Every time you showed the progress on your vampire & bat, I couldn’t help but giggle. How do you come up with such clever ideas??? ๐ Btw, I wasn’t sure if you know, but the Zig 2-way glue pen also comes in a finer tip. Kind of a large ballpoint tip. It might be easier for small pieces like this. Anyway, thanks so much for making me smile! ๐ I really needed that today. ~ Andrea
Darlene DeVries
Hi Andrea – yes, I remember buying the fine tip glue pen a long time ago but found that it didn’t stick very well – did you have a different experience? Glad I made you smile. Hope you had a great weekend. ๐
Andrea
I have actually used the fine tip more/longer than the broader tip one. I don’t seem to have any problems with it sticking. I figure it is probably the same glue, just a different applicator. I do only use it on paper-to-paper applications. No embellishments. It seems to do fine for that. And like you said, the glue is blue when it’s liquid, so you can see it easily. I also have an even finer-tip glue pen. Kind of like the Quickie Glue Pen, but a different brand. I picked it up at Hobby Lobby. I haven’t used it much, but it seems to do as well as the Zig glue pens. Hope this makes sense! ๐ ~ Andrea
Darlene DeVries
You know what? I think it was the Quickie Glue Pen now that you mention it. I’ll add the Zig fine tip to my wishlist and try it. Thank you!

I only have four words for you Darleneโฆ YOU ARE SO CLEVER!

This is such a cute card! I wish I had the imagination that you do to be able to look at the things I already have in my supplies and come up with different ways to use them. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration!
