Finetec Pearl Watercolors and GIVEAWAY!

Finetec Butterflies

Hi All,

I am super impressed with the results of these easy-to-use watercolor paints! They are very opaque and give fantastic results on black cardstock. Here are a couple of close-ups:

Finetec Butterflies

Finetec Butterflies

I created another version with the same colors, but I created the blue background before stamping the butterflies. I used a lot of water, so the color is more subtle:

Finetec Butterflies

Finetec Butterflies

I inked the left part of the cardstock with Dusty Concord to match the butterflies.

Here is a version that has no painted background – it’s just the same butterflies on black cardstock:

Such a beautiful look!

Okay, so as for the giveaway… I realized after using the Summer Garden set on this card that it’s no longer available! Since I only try to use available products, I’m wondering if someone would like to have my stamp set and matching dies?…

Summer Garden

If so, leave a comment here by next Friday, October 7th. I’ll pick a winner on Saturday. Enjoy the video and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

I always love this Stampin Up Garden in Bloom stamp set and am glad when you use it for a card. This one is awesome. The Finetec watercolors are especially beautiful. But first I’m going to try my Yasutomo Pearlescent Watercolors, which are a cheaper substitute, to see how they work. If they don’t work and before investing in Finetec, I’ve got some Mica paints that I can also try. Please do put me in the giveaway draw for the SSS Summer Garden stamp and die set. I liked them very much when you used them on previous cards.

Love the look you created with these paints. I will have to take a look as I own nothing like this. I usually watercolor with Spectrum Aqua as they are easy to use in my craft room. Thanks for showing the brushes as well. Please put me in the drawing for the retired stamp set. I had no idea that SSS retired their product.

I like all three cards, but my favorite is probably the one you did in the video! I can see how you could use this technique and these watercolors on a wide variety of cards and not have them look the same. That is why I love….stamp sets and techniques that are versatile. Thanks for always sharing your great ideas and wonderful talent!

Lovely results, Darlene, and thank you for demonstrating the paints so thoroughly! If you wanted to use them with watercolor paper, Daniel Smith makes a black watercolor ground medium. You can brush it on really any surface, and it makes it receptive to watercolor. I found the 4 oz. size at Dick Blick: http://www.dickblick.com/items/02124-2024/. I haven’t ever used it, so this is not a personal endorsement by any means. But I know Daniel Smith makes good quality products, so I think it would work really well. It also comes in a larger container, which of course costs more. Anyway, just thought I’d share. Please don’t enter me in the drawing, since I already have those stamps & dies. 🙂 ~ Andrea
