Family Thankful Tree

Thankful Tree

Happy Saturday!

Today I’m bringing you a special Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft project. It’s a canvas, but don’t worry… the supplies needed are limited and there’s no paint involved!

I created the tree on a 16″x20″ canvas using Gelatos. The leaves are manually cut out with scissors and inked roughly with various distress inks. All of us (my daughters, my husband, and me) wrote something about what we are thankful for on each leaf. I haven’t decided if I’m going to add more leaves or not – I kind of like seeing the tree underneath, considering I spent a bunch of time on it, lol! It’s a great memento to hang on the wall for a long time. 🙂

See my guest designer blog post for step by step photos, instructions, and a supply list. It was really fun to make!!

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful work. I have to try the gelatos, they look like so much fun. Mostly I love your idea of the tree tho, what a great way to document the changes in your families life as they grow.

Wonderful idea, Darlene!! Perfect timing for this up comming Thanksgiving. My grandkids will love making this tree for our special Thanksgiving dinner. For the past 3 years, I hold a little dinner, the guests are my husband, daughters, grandkids and sons in law, it’s right around this Holiday, before we go to our big extended family gatherings and I ask everyone to bring a piece of paper where they are to write what they are thankfull for. This tree is awesome and I think I will give it a try. Thank you for the inspiration.!!
