Hi All!
I love slider cards – I’ve created quite a few over the years. When I saw these envelope slider dies, I knew I needed them. Yes, needed them. 🙂
Here is the slider being pulled out:
There is a slit in the back of the envelope that holds the slider, so it’s a big surprise when such a big slider comes out of this little envelope – it’s very clever!
I used the bear from All Inside, which has a matching die that cuts his arms so you can insert anything you want. I’m actually thinking of using this bear for my holiday card, holding a present or a candy cane. Not sure yet, but it’s August already, so it’s time to start planning!
Unfortunately, the die set is currently out of stock. I’m told it won’t be back in for 3 weeks. Apparently it’s very popular with Ellen’s latest release. Sorry about that. If you want, you can sign-up to be notified when it’s back in stock. Part of the new release is the Bare Ware set, which I just purchased. More stuff for the bear to hold! If you need sentiments to match, Warm Fuzzies is a good option too. There’s just too much good stuff out there. 🙂
Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

Always wanted to make a card like this but was afraid it would take me a month of Sundays. Thank you for showing us that I was wrong. I love this card and the bear is cute as the dickens.

I loooove this slider!! I need those dies and bear stamp set asap! Lol ??
Pipersmomma07
So amazing!!! I have the envelope slider die, but now I need that stamp and die set! Aye!!!!
Lesley S
Thanks for such a good explanation of how to create the slider. A really cute card.
Can you tell us what tip you used on your bottle of Multi Medium?

Hi Leslie, I looked at Ellen Hutson and found fine tip applicator tips. The SKU is
RIMDAD47278-IND. Hope that helps!
Lesley S
Thanks for the info. I looked at it online, but it doesn’t look quite like the one on Darlene’s bottle, so I’ll be interested to see what she uses. I have one already, by another company, but I’m always looking for new gadgets.

ok Leslie, you challenged me to look further! Amazon.com Inkssentials Glossy accents
precision tip 2oz etc. That wi;; get you to the item. It is $18.91, more than I want to spend right now. Think I’ll wait and see.
Darlene DeVries
Well, honestly, I’m not sure. Someone gave it to me a long time ago and I don’t have the packaging anymore. I’m so sorry!

Great card. So cute.
Judi Harvey
Cute card! Where did you get your fine point tip for your glue?
Darlene DeVries
Hi Judi. Unfortunately, I don’t know – the packaging is gone. 🙁
Judi Harvey
Thank you Darlene. I haven’t found a fine tip that I like yet and yours looked like one that worked well. 🙂

Love this card!!! Thanks Darlene.

Darlene, this card is adorable! Love the surprise the recipient gets with that loooong slider out of such a little envelope. Kind of makes me think of a bunch of clowns getting out of a little clown car! LOL I assume you glued down the bears arms as well? I didn’t notice it in the video, but figure you must have, since you said it was important to glue everything down on your slider. Anyway, thanks for the share! 🙂 ~ Andrea

Funny you mention it. I made two of these cards and after posting it, I was playing with the first one I made and noticed the arms weren’t glued. So, I glued them down. The second one hasn’t had an issue, but I would recommend gluing the arms to be sure it doesn’t catch. Thanks for noticing!

This is awesome! How fun to get such a big slider out of that little envelope! Great card Darlene!

It’s just amazing, Darlene, how you manage to come up with one cute idea after another. You must dream about card ideas too! This one is especially clever. I have a partiality to bears and this one is adorable. I just might be tempted to get him. I look forward to seeing how you might use him for Christmas.

Thank you, Connie. You are always so kind! 🙂 Hope your hip is feeling great.
Connie
My hip is coming along fine. Thanks for thinking about me! ?

I’m finally able to make this card as I now have the stamps and dies! However, it is a bit challenging to get everything perfect… I’m making three at a time : ) The design of this card is absolutely genius!!
