Embossed Butterfly Thank You Card

Butterfly Embossed

This weekend is just a whirlwind of soccer. Today, two games for my oldest, one game for my youngest. Tomorrow, one game each for both. Spring season has begun!

I had a comment on one of my previous videos that the angle of my camera made it hard to watch. So, for this video, I used a mish-mosh of things around my house to assemble an overhead support for my camera. I think the angle problem is fixed, but now I have an automatic “zoom in-zoom out” focus problem with the camera… maybe because it is too close to my work surface. I’ll have to do a little more experimenting with my next video.

This butterfly card is both dry and heat embossed. I used my Stampin’ Up! Sizzix Big Shot again to create both the butterflies and the black shape (“top note” die) with the faux stitching. The “thanks” is heat embossed with white powder. I also hand-drew the lines around the edges of the gray. The butterflies were created with the “Beautiful Wings” embosslit, which both cuts and dry-embosses the butterflies.

In the first version of this card, I used the Baroque Motifs swirl stamp with some white craft ink in the upper left corner, but I thought it was too busy with the butterflies.

Also note – if you are creating this card for yourself, use the side of the top note that doesn’t have the cut stitches in it. This side is easier to do your own stitching on.
