Dang! Partial Stamping

Hi All!

The llama and the goat are my two favorite animals in this From the Herd stamp set. I used the entire stamp on THIS CARD. Today I’m using just the llama. He’s just so funny-looking! A little tip to give you a little more inspiration on getting more from your stamps… just use part of it. I covered the area around the llama with none other than… you guessed it. Surgical tape. Let me show you what I received in the mail last week:

Surgical Tape

Yes, it’s a 24-count refill pack for less than $10 at Amazon. 240 feet of tape! This tape is seriously a miracle crafting product. One of my blog readers turned me on to it, and boy am I thankful! 🙂

Anyway, take a look through your stamps. I bet you have some that can become new again with this masking thought.

My favorite part about this card is the llama’s fluffy fur. I colored him with Copic markers, then created the look of wooly fur using the 0 marker and also the lightest color of the fur (E40 in my case). Here is a close-up:

Regarding the die cutting, I used Mama Elephant’s Landscape Trio dies. I really like this stitched border set, and I’m already using it quite a bit!

My luck has not been so good this week… just after editing this video my computer crashed. I couldn’t access it at all. Luckily I still had the original video files so I didn’t have to rerecord it, but ugh, don’t you hate computer problems? They can waste so much time. I ended up installing a bunch of software on my daughter’s computer and using hers. She wasn’t all too thrilled with that idea, lol! Now I have to figure out what to do moving forward.

OH! I almost forgot… I added POLLING to the site!! I’m so excited about this. There are so many times when I wonder what you all are thinking. I thought, why not add a tool to ask? You can access it under the Fun Pages section in the right margin. Or, click here. I’m thinking about posting a question every month, but let’s see how it goes for this month. Thanks in advance for your input! Enjoy the video. 🙂

    Hi Darlene,
I meant to ask about the micro pore tape. Do you use it in the place of that sticky note tape?

      Darlene DeVries

Yes, it is removable just like sticky notes.

Darlene, you always share such useful tips. I love that Llama looking at us from over the hill. He definitely has some personality. I had not seen the Slang Phrases from Paper Smooches. They went well with Mr. Llama. Thanks sharing.

Joyce, there is a gallery for Gelatos if you search “By Product”. It’s in the menu above.

This card turned out really neat I just love it. It is very different and a great way to stretch your stamps! Thanks for sharing Darlene!

I was also wondering, how often do you post new videos? Is it just once a week, or twice? I was just wondering because I thought it was only once but you posted twice last week so I was just curious.

    Miss Robin

I wanted to share a funny with you. My husband and 19 yo son and I were in the living room, each doing our own things, and I started your video and when you mentioned the llama stamp, they both said at the same time, “Did she say llama?” I guess they’ve never heard of a llama stamp before! 🙂 Cute card!
