Crafty Items SALE!

UPDATE 9/13/15: Boxes, in order of popularity: 9, 5, 10, 15, 14, 3, 8, 2, 7, 12, 13, 6, 4, 1, 11

Hi All,

I spent a lot of time going through my craft room to gather up all the items I don’t use much anymore. We are moving soon, so I had to clean house.

In past sales, I listed every stamp set and sold them separately. I just had too much stuff this time! I grouped the items into 15 boxes. Each box has an assortment of stamps, dies, punches, paper, and/or embossing folders. There are a couple of random items, like red tinsel embossing powder and embossing paste (items I accidentally bought two of!). I attempted to make the value of each box the same.

If you are interested in these boxes, here’s how it will work…

  1. I took a photo and made a list of the items in each box. Check out the contents HERE. Determine which boxes you would consider purchasing. Each box is $40 and shipping is a flat $11 per box for the US. You’ll see that the value of these boxes is well over $40. Most of the products are lightly used. Some have never even been opened! Almost all items are in their original packaging, but some of the packaging is not in very good condition. Every item is functional. I’m happy to ship internationally in the most economical way. The packages are approximately 3 lbs and the contents will fit into a USPS Medium Flat Rate box. My mailing zip code is 75230, if you want to check online rates to your country.
  2. When you’re ready, go to the SURVEY FORM. Enter your name and email address. Then, select each box you are interested in. Select as many boxes as you want, but keep in mind that if your name is drawn for that box, you are committed to purchasing it (just one box – see #3 below). The deadline for submitting this form is Tuesday, September 15th, 11:59pm CT.
  3. If you marked that you are interested in a box, your name goes into the pool for that box. I will randomly draw a name for each box. Once your name has been selected for a box, your name will be removed from the pool for subsequent drawings. So, you will only get one box.
  4. The order of box drawings will be random. In other words, just because Box #1 is labeled #1, it won’t necessarily be the first box drawn.
  5. On September 16th, I will post the names drawn for each box. I will also send a Paypal invoice to each person for $51.
  6. If payment is not received within 48 hours, I will select another name from that box’s pool.
  7. Hopefully this isn’t too confusing! Let me know if you have any questions by submitting a comment below so that everyone can see the answer.

An exciting way to get stuff, but kinda bummed its not individual this year. I have been trying to get holiday home for my mom on ebay and always get outbid! So I hope I get to win that box for her!

I love the way you did it this time. It makes a lot of sense and easy to understand.

I like them all, but I have to settle for #14. Please let me know how to pay

Hi Theresa. Please go to the survey and check box #14. If your name is drawn for it, I will send you a paypal invoice.

Have already done that. Can’t wait

Darlene, I like the way you work to keep things fair for all of us. The luck of the draw just doesn’t favor me LOL. But this is fun and I’m looking forward to the 16th.
I’m curious about how many responses of interest you get for each box. Would you be willing to tell us the odds?

      Darlene DeVries

The odds are kind of complicated because if someone who wants the same box as you, and she wins another box first, her name is withdrawn. I can, however, tell you which boxes are most popular. I will add that to the post.

Please note that a replacement for the cracked MISTI was already placed and that this one has no warranty from My Sweet Petunia. Thanks, Iliana

Thank you for chiming in, Iliana. This MISTI is the one I used in my Product Review and was replaced due to a manufacturing defect. The product comes as-is.

This is a fun way to do it! I’ve been interested in the MISTI but see it as a real luxury item, to winning Box #10 would be a thrill!

      Sally Dee,
I’m pretty frugal, but also had too many “misses” with stamping, so I splurged on the Misti. I don’t for a moment regret it; figured I’d probably have to dump enough of my paper on rejects to eventually cover the cost. I’m not trying to sell anything; this is just my experience. Elyse

What a great idea, Darlene. You really have thought out this sale so well. With the falling A$ against the Greenback, it leaves me out. But what a bargain for those of you in the US. It was fun to match up the items with ones I own myself. There were quite a few items too. I also think it would be fun to know which boxes are more popular. I don’t think exact numbers of potential buyers are required but the list of boxes according to level of popularity is all we need to know.

Haha Connie…”we need to know”. You crack me up!!!

You are into statistics I can see (smile)!

Hu Darlene….I want to submit my name for another box but it jut says that I “have already taken the survey” and I don’t know how to get back in. I would love to put my name in for your Box #7.

    • wrote on September 9th, 2015 at 5:37 pm

      Darlene DeVries

Hi Cat. No problem – I will add #7 to your list. 🙂

Thanks, Darlene! I will keep my fingers crossed.

Oh my. If there was ever a wake-up call that I have too much stuff, this was it. I think I have at least half of what’s in each box — and not just the Stampin’ Up stuff. Eeek! Maybe I should do something like this too. lol

    • wrote on September 9th, 2015 at 1:24 pm

I hear you Irene…was going to put my name in…but then I also would have a lot of duplicates

I love how you are so creative at being fair to everyone…even the fashionably late like myself. LOL Kudos to you!! =)

    Barb H.

I really should go through my stuff and sell some of it like you do, Darlene. I think I own at least one item in each of your boxes. Any chance you can facilitate a craft “garage sale” for the members on your website to sell to or trade with each other?

      Darlene DeVries

Wow Barb, I really like that idea. Let me give it some thought. Thanks!!
