Hi All!
I hardly ever participate in online card challenges. I’m not sure why – maybe because I feel like I am not being original enough? Anyway, I decided to branch out and do the Hero Arts sketch challenge this week. Here is the sketch:
I chose the last sketch because I just got that Chevron stamp (shout-out to Laura – thank you!) and wanted to put it to good use:
I used masking to create the Chevron stripe. I actually used Eclipse Masking Tape, which I love. However, you could just use post-its and it would do the job. I added some Glossy Accents to the flowers for a little extra interest. I tried to keep it pretty clean – that in itself can be a challenge!!
Anyway, enjoy the video and have a great week!!
Darlene

Love this card. The shading is fabulous. I also just ordered this stamp and isn’t Eclipse the bomb.

Darlene, Once again a wonderful card. I have been trying to order Eclipse for a month and it has always been unavailable–finally on Splitcoaststampers there are comments that Judikens no longer makes it. They recommended Post-it notes or Grafix Creative Plastic Films available at Art Supply stores like Aaron Brothers, and art section of Joanns and Michaels. Just thought I’d pass this on to you. Too bad. All comments about the Grafix are that it is an excellent product.

Ohhhhh!! finally I got the Internet back!! It was out for about 3 hours “due to repairs, our technitians are working extra hard to restore and fix the problem. We apologize for any inconvinience.” Sheeeeesh!! if it would have been any other day, I wouldn’t care to much but, IT WAS ON A WENESDAY!!!!! of all days. Don’t they know I’m anxiously waiting for your video?? Anyway, love your card. Love the blending of the colors, Darlne, you are amazing. I’ve been trying but I still can’t get the same awesome results. Oh well, practice makes perfect. I just have to keep on trying. This is a great card for a man, clean and simple. The sentiment can be exchanged for a Happy Birthday one.
I again will be waiting for next wenesday and my server better be running or else!!
Maria.

Darlene of all the crafters I watch on YouTube I cannot believe you wrote that you don’t believe you are original enough. 😮
You are one of the most original artists on there.
Don’t be hard on yourself, we all love your work.

I’m in a quandary. Just used your technique on a card. Turned out well and would like show it to you. Any ideas on how I go about that? Realize, first, I’m a techno-idiot.

Hi Coni! You can email it to me: darlenedevries@yahoo.com. Can’t wait to see it!

ADORABLE!

I am taking the lazy way out, because I am certain you can answer my question. What ink would you recommend for use on clear stamps. I remember reading someone’s recommendation somewhere way back when I first started out card making. Sometime I am not satisfied with a stamping of a clear stamp as not being crisp.
Sorry if this is not the place to ask this.
PS The CAS aspect of the card is very inspiring!

No problem Brenda. I address this on my FAQ’s page. Question #12.
