Hi All,
A quick sale alert… Simon Says Stamp is having 20% off all their brand products, now through Sunday. Use code FLASH at checkout.
Today’s card involves stamping and then “swiping” with water. My focus was not on dimension or shadowing. My focus was on making sure I had a variety of shades. I wasn’t too concerned about where the light and dark shades were – just that I had several different shades, including white. I think it will make more sense when you watch the video.
I used Altenew’s Golden Garden set. It’s another multi-step stamp set, but there are at most 2 steps per stamp. There is a cheat sheet, and this one is actually worth something – it’s very clear on how they line up. I think it’s also easier because it’s more “sketchy”. You don’t have to get the stamping exactly right.

See you tomorrow!

Hi Darlene, I’m glad to see you use distress ink and markers again. With some of the newer mediums, I’ve put mine to one side recently and forgotten how lovely they can look. This stamp set is very unusual and the card was simple and elegant!

Thank you for all the instructions. Your card is beautiful! I, too, am one who has a hard time stopping and wind up losing the dimensional look. I can’t wait to try something like this with my stamps! Thanks for sharing!!

Beautiful card Darlene, not sure I could watercolor it to look like yours, but I love that you can. Hugs, Brenda

I think this card has a cool tropical look. Love it. It was nice to see the use of our distress inks and pens again. Thanks Darlene for another great video.

Stunning Darlene…clean look that I love! Thanks for the tutorial.

Beautiful card. You make watercoloring look so easy, but I tend to lose all the white areas I leave in. I know I don’t stop when I should. But, I will keep practicing and one day may be able to make a card that looks somewhat like yours. 🙂 Thanks for your detailed instructions. You are a wonderful teacher.

This is a beatuiful clean card. I love the use of distress markers and ink pads, too. When you use those, I think I don’t need any of the others, lol.
I also like lining up the card base on the Misti.
