CAS Watercolor Christmas Card

CAS Christmas

Hi All,

Yes, I’m using the Peaceful Pines set again. I can’t help myself. I need to take a break though – I have too many other goodies I need to use!

This one was really easy to do. And if you don’t massively deliberate when to stop your watercoloring, it’s probably the fastest holiday card you will make, haha! Line ’em up, watercolor, and let it AIR DRY. I had trouble with staining the embossed area, I think because I used my heat tool to dry it. The first time I did this card I had no problem, but I let it dry naturally. I always try to do that, but I was being impatient this time around! Here is a close-up:

You see the water stains? They are easy to achieve and really add a lot of interest to the watercolor. I show in the video how to get that look. The Peerless colors I used are: Viridian Green, Sky Blue, and Heliotrope. If you’d like to see how I created my storage folder, CLICK HERE.

Love the sentiment on the tree – it brings tears. The colors are nice and out of the norm. You can keep doing the Peaceful Pines as far as I’m concerned but I don’t want to miss out on all of your other goodies either. 🙂

    Beautiful card Darlene.
I’m not sure where to put this but there is a site called:
You have to sign up for the site to get the deals but they have Zig Real brush pens for 2.29 each and Copic Sketch markers for 4.69 each. I just wanted to pass it along.

Darlene, I love how the color just travels on the wet paper, and blends so nicely!! This is indeed a CAS card but it’s also beautiful.
    Thank you for sharing.

I love that you kept in the problem, so you could explain how to solve it. Never would have thought of reheating the embossing to bring back the shine! Thanks!

I don’t think I ever would have thought of using alcohol to get the watercolor off the embossing. Glad you could get the shine back without ruining everything you’d done–whew! 🙂 Love the colors you used. They look really peaceful. Tfs! ~ Andrea

Hi Darlene! I love the card and Peaceful Pines is a winner and my 1st purchase when I get home. Am sitting here catching up online at our hotel in Rome while my hubby checks out our train to Florence. Couldn’t help but check in (smile). We’ve just had a 48 hour journey from Sydney to Rome via Dubai. Down Under is so VERY far away!

The colors you used are lovely and the tree pops right off the card. Also glad you used the oval, it makes the card more elegant somehow.

It’ all been said but I just love the background colours. I really enjoy your videos. In fact I kind of get excited when I see your LiveLoveCards email. I have just received my Peaceful Pines set and can’t wait to use it. Hi Connie, it sure is along trip. Enjoy.
