Bold Watercolor

Bold Watercolor

Hi All!

So how do you get bold watercolor? Use your Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers with no water. It’s amazing how vibrant the colors are in these markers, and there is no dilution when you use them dry. Here is a close-up:

These markers are very easy to blend, and they don’t contaminate. So, you can pickup a darker color with your light marker and use it until it blends back to light. Watch the video for a step-by-step tutorial. I really love the results!

I hope everyone has had a great start to 2018 – Happy New Year!

Love this card. The cityscape brings back memories of Ayn Rand books for some strange reason. I’ve also started using speech and thought bubbles a lot. This one in the stamp set really works well on your card. Thanks for talking through the colour application. It was very helpful as II’ve never used the Zig markers on their own. It really makes a very striking card though and I plan to try it myself soon. Hope everyone in the USA or Canada who reads this comment is staying safe and well during your amazing cold snap. On the other side of the world, we are anticipating hot weather in the 90s and 100s for the next several days. Talk about extremes! Also, Darlene, I hope you enjoy the ice hockey game tomorrow night to celebrate someone’s birthday (smile). Hmmmm! Wonder who that someone could be!

thanks for thinking about us Connie, the winter weather bomb hit last night in Nova Scotia, with winds up to 120km (70 mph) and of course a lot of power outages, but we came through it unscathed! thank goodness! Our power only went out for about an hour, lots of folks will be out until early next week! And the cold snap starts tonight!

Glad you’re okay Carol Mac! What crazy weather! I pray it settles down very soon. In the meantime, rug up with some Cocoa and a good book. Or better still, have a card-making rage. Most of all, do take care and stay indoors!!

Love the vibrant colors you got! Great design, too–glad you kept it simple. We’ve had kind of a bang-up start to the new year (literally, since my mom was in a minor fender-bender the other day! 😲), but hopefully the worst is over and the rest of the year will go up from here. At least the accident was minor, and no one was hurt. Anyway, hope you are doing well, Darlene! Thanks for having such a great card/video up today–I really needed it! 🐱 ~ Andrea

Nice card. I like how you used the Zig markers. It makes me want to pull mine out and use them more often. However, I’m afraid that I am a little slow, but I don’t get the idea of the card. Who is thanking whom?

The person in the building (me) is thanking the card recipient, at least that’s the way I take it.

A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU Darlene! I couldn’t find your email address anywhere to send you a Jacquie Lawson card. When I clicked on “emai me” nothing happened. Anyway hope you have a fantastic day.

Thanks for the techniques on this card, the coloring is amazing!

I go to Home, then Contact, and email me. Or go to About and email me. I think it could be my computer, but not so sure.

What an amazing outcome to an intriguing technique. You may have guessed but I am not too good with shadows and such so I love watching your skills doing this. Happy Birthday Darlene, I hope your Ice Hockey team won. Keep warm. It was 47 degrees celsius in Sydney today.
