Best Mom Friends

Mom BFF's

Hi All,

Isn’t this sentiment so hilarious? I found it at Simon Says Stamp, along with several others I purchased for later. It reminds me of those funny ecards people post on Pinterest and Facebook. I combined it with the Coffee BFF’s stamp by Art Impressions. I stamped the inside with “You’re a special friend” using Penny Black’s Words Express Set.

Since you guys have seen me color so many times with Copics, I sped up the coloring parts of the video. If you need beginner help with Copics, you can check out my Copics 101 post. I also posted a list of some of my favorite color combinations HERE.

Enjoy the video and have a great weekend!

    Hi Darlene,
Got a question for you. I love coloring with copics but I also love heat embossing stamped images. I know you can’t use copics with heat embossing because it ruins the nibs(ask me how I know!) but I was wondering if you could stamp the image, color it and then use that stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the image again and heat emboss it?
I don’t have any sort of stamp positioner so its probably something I should invest in but I thought I would ask before running out and getting one.

Hi Mary Jane, you could totally do that! And to make it clean, I would use Versamark ink and clear embossing powder, just in case you’re not perfectly lined up with the initial image. I made the same mistake as you. Sometimes we just need to learn the hard way.

Thanks for the tip on the embossing powder! I never thought of that!
Thanks for the info and I’m off to my craft table to give it a try.

Oh Darlene, this friends look fabulous, sitting there chatting and having a tall order coffee, love it, love it. This pair look like my aunt and me, when we go out shopping at antique stores and then, go grab a bite and just talk and talk and talk.
Super fabulous coloring, OMG!! I love how you did their pretty faces, rosy cheeks and all.
    Love the sentiment, it’s hilarious!!!
Thank you for sharing this super fun card.

To me, it looks like the girls are drinking soda out of a straw, so I think it would work!

Oh you are right! I just looked at the name of the stamp never looking at their drinks. Thanks!

Good morning: I love the video. I love your creativity. I am a little concerned that I am paying for content that is also appearing on your free website. I don’t mean to be snippy or small, but this is the second video that we are paying for that is also showing up on your regular blog. I find it a bit puzzling.

      Mary Jane

If I remember correctly, Darlene had mentioned that she would be doing cards once a month on the Darlene design website and then other cards and how to videos once a week on her new site. I think that’s how it went. I do see some cards on the pay site that I don’t see over on the other site so I think that’s what’s happening.

Hi Barbara. In my launch of LiveLoveCards, I stated that I would continue to post to DarleneDesign.com once per month. On LiveLoveCards, I post videos twice per week. When I do post to DarleneDesign.com, I also put the same content on LiveLoveCards so that you don’t have to go to two blogs. January’s post to DD.com occurred on January 16th. February’s post occurred on Friday, Feb 13th. There won’t be another DD.com post until March.

Hi Darlene: thank you for the clarification. 🙂 I do love the card and the sentiment. I hope that wasn’t lost in my original post.
