Hi All,
A few bits of news first…
- Ellen Hutson is having a little Unicorn Dust sale TODAY ONLY. Sound interesting? Click here for details. Be sure to read the product description for this special dust. 🙂
- Simon Says Stamp has free shipping on all orders $75 or more, now through Sunday. Use code APRFREE at checkout.
One more thing before we get to the April challenge. The winner for March is… jsupport! Congrats, Jacqueline, I emailed you. Okay, now for the challenge…
I love using butterflies on a card. They just seem to make it more peaceful. I hope you’ll have fun and be creative! If you search “butterfly” on the site, many cards will come up – hopefully one of them will inspire you.
If you are new to the community, I encourage you to check out the Challenges Page for detailed information about how the challenges work.
The last day to submit your entry is Saturday, April 30th, 11:59pm CT. One random winner will be selected from all entries and announced on Sunday, May 1st.
The giveaway will be a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp, one of my favorite stores!
Even though a random winner is selected at the end of the month, the challenge is open indefinitely. Please continue to post to the challenges. Continuously seeing everyone’s new work is a win for everyone’s inspiration!
Okay, just to recap the main rules:
- Your entry must incorporate butterflies in some way.
- You can submit as many entries as you like! However, please submit only one entry per card.
- After submitting your entry, leave a comment on the entry just before yours.
- Leave more comments on entries, if you’re so inclined. 🙂
- To be eligible for a prize, you must be an active member of LiveLoveCards at the time the winner is announced and your card must have been made in the current month.

Instead of coloring inside the Garden in Bloom butterflies with my Zig Watercolor Pens, I colored around them:
It’s a really easy background to create. I hope you’ll try it!
Enjoy the video and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Love this card. Amazing how we all love butterflies. The background looks gorgeous. I will have a go at making this card sometime today. Thanks Darlene

I’m definitely going to try thus technique!
Connie
This card is a real beauty! I love my Zig brushes and this Stampin Up butterfly set is one of my favourites too. So it’s a perfect combination! I couldn’t have picked it better myself! And I like this masking tape trick which I must try when I make this card but as a birthday card today!

When I try to watch the video, I get a message across the window that says “Sorry, because of its privacy settings this video cannot be played here.”
I haven’t had a problem in the past.

There are many working pieces to the process of bringing you video. They all have to be “in sync” regarding technology. So, it’s possible something you have is out-of-date. It could be your browser or maybe Adobe Flash. Check out my suggestions HERE. Also, try another browser or device. I know there is a known issue with iOS 9.3, if you are running that. Is it just this video or all videos?
Carol Mac
Hi Darlene, I think you are right, because I just updated my iPad with iSO 9.3.0 and 9.3.1 yesterday and am still getting the black screen like Nonee. If I log out and log back in, it seems to fix the video and I can watch it on my iPad. Hope it works for her too!
Carol Mac
PS – it works fine on my desk top computer….?
Nonee
I did just update to the 9.3.1. This is the first time I have had an issue with it on your videos so maybe that is the problem. I hadn’t thought about that being the problem. Thanks.
Darlene DeVries
I just read that upgrading to 9.3.1 will partially solve the issue. It says you may be able to watch it once but you’ll get an error on subsequent views. Vimeo is definitely working on this issue (like daily), so hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Great Card! I have seen you use the masking tape technique before to pick up pieces you’ve arranged and goodness, you are brilliant! I’ve tried it with a card I made with little paper coffee beans and am so happy to now have a way to keep my perfectly arranged pieces exactly as I arranged them when it’s time to glue them down! Wish I knew about this years ago!

So excited that I just entered my first challenge! How could I resist with so much inspiration above!

I’m replying to my own comment, because I hadn’t finished 🙂
Love the #butterfliesmakemehappy 🙂

Finally settled in Australia and got my subscription back and running again!! So excited to be back… I have missed your videos Darlene. I just loved this card. Worth my subscription price already 🙂
Darlene DeVries
Glad to have you back, Kylie. I hope the move went well. 🙂

I tried to comment on the card posted before mine but it requires a flickr account which I don’t want to sign up for…so I’m leaving the comment here – I hope it counts, Darlene! The card was made using recycled trash! Lovinpaper flattened bottle caps to incorporate into her card – how fun! I’ve never thought of using trash on card! Very creative!

I don’t know why I’m always so late -indecisive, I guess. But I see butterfly stamp as Hannah Marie, My how nice all the butterflies look.
