3D Butterfly

3D Butterfly

Hi All!

I originally saw this technique on the Hero Arts blog almost 6 years ago! Back then, I used it to create THIS CARD. I think it deserves a resurrection after so many years!

You can see the butterfly wings underneath as well. Here are a couple of close-ups:

Thanks Darlene for the earlier video time release. It’s much appreciated! Butterflies are one of my favourite stamps and those in the Altenew Bejewelled stamp set are extremely unusual. I really liked the way you gave the butterfly a 3D effect. I also watched your other butterfly 3D card from 6 years ago and the Hero Arts Butterfly stamp was lovely too. But I must admit that your card today with the butterfly stamp from Altenew is the clear winner. I’ll have to look at my butterfly stamp collection now and see what I can come up with too!

Oh my gosh Darlene…..been there…..done precisely that!!!!! Ughh!! It’s so frustrating when I forget to wrap the ribbon around the panel and sometimes, I just let a little scream out!! specially when the card is totally finished. If the glue is still kind of wet, I’m able to salvage it but if it’s tape, I just cut the panel off, sacrificing the cad base like you did.
But anyway, this card is lovely, just beautiful!!! this butterfly looks alive and gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing your videos, specially the ones where you fix the little mishaps you encounter and how you fix them.
    Hugs,
    Maria.

I love this. You did one once before that was similar. I remember watching the video over and over to try to replicate it. I finally figured it out. For some reason though this video made it so simple. I finally got the concept or maybe I am finally getting better at all of this. Thanks for this video.
